Serenity

"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
 the courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."

My Nana and Grandpa bought me a beautiful gold locket for my 7th birthday with these words engraved, it's amazing how often they bring me comfort.  It's from the Serenity Prayer, which is not actually in the bible, it was written by theologian Reinhold Niebuhr in the early 1900s.
